The Northern Colorado Rod & Gun Club (NCRGC) is a private membership organization that hosts public shooting events. The Club is dedicated to promoting the shooting sports and encouraging safe firearm handling for individuals and families.

Founded in 1948 through the merger of four sportsmen groups from Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, and Estes Park, NCRGC relocated in 1970 to its current site on Owl Canyon Road, just off U.S. 287 on the Weaver Ranch north of Fort Collins, Colorado.

The Club operates a 14-acre outdoor facility featuring five distinct ranges: a rifle range, pistol range, shotgun fields, archery range, and tactical bays.

NCRGC’s objectives include:

  • Promoting organized rifle, pistol, shotgun, and archery shooting throughout Larimer County and surrounding areas, with an emphasis on safe firearm handling, proper care, and improved marksmanship.
  • Encouraging hunting, fishing, and related outdoor activities while fostering honesty, fellowship, and good sportsmanship among members and the public.
  • Supporting conservation efforts and the responsible management of wildlife resources.
  • Increasing public understanding—especially among non-hunters—of the importance of regulated hunting in wildlife management, while strengthening relationships between sportsmen and landowners.
  • Upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship and camaraderie among members, and discouraging unsportsmanlike conduct.

IRS Designation

The Northern Colorado Rod & Gun Club is a 501(c)(7) nonprofit organization established for pleasure, recreation, and other nonprofitable purposes. Substantially all activities support these purposes, and no portion of the Club’s net earnings benefits any individual member.

Membership has its privileges...

  • Members enjoy year-round access to the Club from sunrise to sunset, including the Rifle Range, Pistol Range, Shotgun Fields, Archery Range, and Tactical Bays (certification required), unless an area is closed for a scheduled event.
  • Household memberships cover an adult (18 or older, legally able to possess a firearm), their spouse as defined by Colorado law, and any children under 18 currently residing in the household.
  • Additional benefits include reduced fees for public matches and special events, a generous guest policy allowing up to twelve guests per year (no more than two per visit, per badged Regular or Associate member), and discounted Range Safety Officer training and certification.
  • Members also have the opportunity to participate in the Instructor Program, purchase firearms and ammunition through the Civilian Marksmanship Program via the Club's affiliation, and connect with others who share their interests.
